Warm winter womenswear

It’s ironic that I sit by the fire, wrapped in a blanket, watching the final in the series that made the line “Winter is Coming” famous. Winter is definitely here and it’s time to address the winter wardrobe.  Where better to get great womenswear than Albany Mega Centre?

The day after the Game of Thrones finale dawns cold and bleak, just line the season ending. I’ve got the day off work so I wrap up well and drive down to Albany. I park at the top end and head into one of my favourite stores, North Beach.

North Beach has such a big range from street wear to more formal work and evening wear. I checking out the pants and jeans and find a few things to try on. I really like the look of the Rusty Fleet Pant and can see myself wearing them with either a hoodie, for a casual look, or a blouse for going out to dinner.

I spot a great Riptide jacket in a lovely eggshell colour. It’s fur-lined and feels really cosy. It’s more than I want to spend but the shop assistant tells me about their lay-buy service, letting me take it home today but pay it off over three months. I’m sold.

I wander down the road a little, to EziBuy. I’ve always found it to be the place for good quality wardrobe essentials at great prices. I immediately see a warm-looking asymmetric cable-knit sweater in a rich brick colour. It would go great with the pants I bought earlier. I try on a series of dresses and tops and settle on a long patterned pin-tuck tunic, that would go equally well over jeans or a skirt.

Just a two minute walk away is Cotton On. I have lots of their tees and sweatshirts at home. They’ve been worn and washed numerous times but still look as good as the day I got them. Every season I add a few more to my wardrobe, some in classic colours and other in the latest trends. I pick a couple of Crew t-shirts, in white and black. I try on the Sister Long Sleeve tops - they are warm and stylish. I select one in a grey and the other in burnt-orange. As I move to pay, I spot a checked midi-skirt with big patch pockets. It’s a must have.

With eight shopping bags in hand I walk back to the car, contemplating just how easy that was. Within two hours I have all the new clothes I need for the winter ahead. There’s no doubt, Albany Mega Centre is the place for womenswear.
